You can still gate out of the fight to avoid xp loss if you're a caster or flee the arena and be DT'd by Sirken.

Look at the big brain on Nirgon.

PS: I didn't show up for lewts but I tried to get my hands in there. C U next time.

Thoughts:

-PvP events in Steamfont are not classic and requires a bunch of artificial rules about "boundries" and "buildings" and "kos NPCs" and "trees" ,etc.

Classic PvP events held in The Arena. Less lag, easier to view the gladiators, easier to film the event, etc. And if this is done partly for publicity, the nostalgia of pvp events in The Arena is moreso then an altered steamfont noob ground with a bunch of giant DE guards in a square formation and a wildly out of era beholder thing as the camera man. Keep it Classic.

-Server is small enough to have a much less structured and hassle free organic type pvp event. Just spawn a NPC in an easy to get to location (eastcommons?etc) with some prize on it. Give said NPC a LOT of hps but low DPS. Maybe put a timer on said mob. Nihilum gets a prize if they kill the mob before it "completes its ritual and escapes or wtf ever", the non-nihilum get prize if they succeed in delaying the destruction of said mob and allowing it to "escape"

Classic "organized army" (nihilum) vs. "guerrilla warriors" (everyone else who has wet dreams about hit-and-run combat). Half of Nihilum (or whatever the largest force is online that is assigned the goal of "killing the creature") will be tied up with bringing down the NPC, the other half fighting off the delaying tactics of the "guerrilla warriors".

Just seems much more simple, organic, and fun then "lets all pick teams for a hour, then assist train some". A ton less headache for staff too.

No more talk about removing xp on pvp death, Sirken is right in that xp is FAR too fast and easy on this server. Brokenly so. Game/era/immersion/system breaking so and should be looked at/into.

No I totally agree with you i just think the winner of the final event that took place for the title should get a prize not everyone that won in the 6v6 1v1 teams. Those prizes where good 5 potions of illusion. Just think the title should come with a nice prize to.
I totally agree, and I voiced my opinion with Sirken

winner of the final pvp event should get an item of choice!

How about the prize is an illusion of their choice but they only keep it as long as they have the title, sounds like the smartest idea

Also, I believe there's code in place to copy/paste for NPCs to react differently to players holding certain items

Not classic but this box needs to keep its pop rising and until that time, little things to help it along can be done

Once above 300 or so, less non-classic shite

Pretty cool idea, also non game breaking. I'm not a fan of items of considerable power being handed out, apart from the winner of some huge BoTB type tournament.

poster has great idea. i have another one

Regicide Pvp -

i think a regicide event, in which Nizzar / Lite / Chewie ???are the targets. and guild vs guild pvp and you have to protect you "king" so to speak.

a great zone for this i feel would toxxuilla forrest

each team could get one of the islands (paineel side - nihilum, erudin side- azrael , non-guilded / flowers / she18 / kerra island side.
t
apon losing your king, everyone on that team is out, and benched .

i think this would be fun, regicide my fav map style in Age of empires 2.

just a thought

Eh that sounds like a bunch of hiding and not a lot of fighting. What I think would be a bit cool would be team v team in a large zone setting where after losing X amount of players or captains the other team wins. This still allows some of the "hunting down" aspect while avoiding a five hour search for one dude hiding in the water fight.
