I'm generally one of the few vocal members that cares about our reputation, but I must note how tempting it is to take Zee's point of view. It seems that no matter what is done or said, you, and others like you, will never be satisfied. I feel like I'm in Aesop's fable: The Man the Boy and the Donkey Stop beating your chest like an enraged ape at the slightest hint of provocation, real or imagined. I'll be the first to acknowledge wrongdoing can and does occur. But, when you take every opportunity to cloak yourself in righteous indignation like some kind of messianic pariah, the charade begins to wear thin. Perhaps you should save yourself for opportunities to express legitimate complaints (such as when you run through a firewall with a Dracoliche behind you). Even right now, you're giving us the same washed up monologue on the nature of this server and our dastardly deeds. TMO and its members have certainly broken rules before, and those who do, deserve to be punished. Just don't blame your personal failures upon us out of mere convenience and bitterness. TMO's competitive stature is generally confined to operate exactly within the rule-frame that has been provided to us. It's not my fault that you do not enjoy such a framework. Perhaps there's another server more to your liking. I suspect that you have not once stopped to consider that some people play here because they are allowed to compete. Let's look at the whole picture before we throw about weighty concepts like "destroying the health of the server." Sure, the end game has a few problems which have been discussed ad nauseum, but I submit that the model itself still works. I find it interesting when people note that the population climbed during our suspension as if it were some kind of oracular insight into the insidious nature of the cancer that is TMO. Never mind that the population continued to climb long after our suspension was lifted. I can't help it that your preferred method of playing the game seems to be mutually exclusive with mine. I play EQ to compete to the maximum extent allowable within the rules provided, and I will continue to do so as long as I am able. TMO has improved the server because it gives a home and a purpose to those who enjoy this play style. What would you have me do? Quit simply because you aren't enjoying yourself? Some games are competitive by nature, and it's up to you to deal with that, not me. Otherwise, would you have me simply walk around handing out flowes next time I play an FPS? After all, I'd hate to kill someone and ruin their good time. Quote:
