Game is a lot of fun I'm getting the hang of it. It's pretty casual as well.

I feel like this is a made up conversation to try to get people to play this game.

The fun of SWG is how open it is. The downsides I've experienced so far is it can be a bit monotonous grinding (but what game isn't), and at times when you're in the wilderness grinding it feels a bit like a solo game. I wish there was open world PVP with no flags and that you could destroy people's shit but o well. Also needs jedis implemented!

IF RED99 IS STILL FUN I AM NOT TRYING TO RECRUIT YOUR SOCK.
the worlds are huge and the terrain varies tremendously. this is a huge perk for because EQ, while it seemed big when i was a kid, seems so damn small now. I really hate zones, open world is a feature I hope to god will be in eq next should that game be any good. Even if me and 4 other guys are rifleman, it is very unlikely we are the same build. You can really make your character unique, there is no min/maxing (no best build) because there is so much customization. Also you aren't locked into a certain class, you can always forget what you've learned and do something else. Still cant speak for the pvp, after getting slaughtered 3 times I've been blueing it up. I love being able to wonder 5 to 6 clicks from any town, set up a camp and hunt. I can gather resources and craft at my camp during downtime or grind on some other skills such as singing/dancing. Economy is completely player driven, most items are player made.Player towns is a huge +++++++ The Idea of creating a self sustaining guild completele with is own town really excites me. The player town we live in today has everything outside a shuttle port (kinda like a boat) which is coming soon. Here is an image of a player town. the homes and other things are made by players as well as plotting and placing the buildings. [You must be logged in to view images. "I actually like SWG more. SWTOR and SWG are just 2 completely different genres of MMOs, and I personally like Sandbox MMO's one hell of a lot more than Themepark. In Sandboxes I tend to always be doing something, in Themepark(doing it right this second in SWTOR), I end up spending my time sitting in the capitol city waiting for raids or groups to form or staring at the auction house while I watch a movie since I'm locked out of everything. In SWG I was getting stuff for my house/ship, hanging out with guildies, setting up a shop, bounty hunting people, warring another guild, or random PvPing.
The problem is most MMO players now can't handle the freedom offered through sandbox MMO's and would rather be on rails the entire time. They get overwhelmed and confused and would rather be told what to do and have a set path to do it. This is why Themepark MMO's like WoW and SWTOR will always be more successful and why we'll probably never see a major company make another sandbox MMO again. There is just no money in it compared to Themepark MMO's." read this in some thread comparing SWG to SWTOR. i think this can be applied to all mmos of today. Hope EQ Next takes notes.
