Have only had it happen once to some guy I was selling a deity to. We both tried to open trade at the same time I figure. (The 'interested in a trade' message popped up while I already had trade open with them.) I cancelled out of it because it was lagging when I tried to drop the doll into the window and it ate the poor guys pp.

If it is, there's an easy way to avoid this when making very large transactions for multiple items: do several trades at once and smurf the transaction (ie divide it into several micro transactions). That way the chance of a failure eating 10K and making you slit your wrists is ridiculously low.

Also, I think when making transactions of say, 5K or more, using a GM as a middle man would be an acceptable short term solution, provided the GM was willing. Both players could trade their money/items to the GM, and the GM could trade everything back to the opposite players, so that if a mistake happens, the GM can always fix it and verify that the transaction occurred.

I have a question - is there a way to actually recover lost plat (due to game logs verifying that a certain amount of platinum was deleted for no reason)? Thanks.

This bug just happened to me a few minutes ago. Woodelfw (players name) gave me some random gear for a torch (mage quest piece). He logged his mage for me to give him the torch and i met him in gfay. I opened up trade with the torch, added a charred guardian breasplate i was going to have him give my rogue, then i changed my mind about the breast plate so i canceled the trade, briefly the torch appears in my inventory but then dissapeared when the trade window was closed. Now i only have the breastplate but the torch is gone. I sent a petition and have been waiting for a response. Makes me look like a shady character when someone gives you an item for transfer then it mysteriously dissapears.

This was fixed. Zone and it should be in your inventory.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I zoned into crushbone. No torch in my inventory.

I made only one change in the code concerning trades. It had to do, with when you cancel a trade, to ensure that the other persons trade cancels correctly. But I will reverse those changes if we confirm an issue with trading again.
