Error in GUI XML files

When I try to launch EQ this evening I get this message:

Error in GUI XML files - check UIErrors.txt

The error file then reads:

[Fri May 21 21:51:50 2010] Error reading XML/SOM.
[Fri May 21 21:51:50 2010] Error loading skin: loading default skin instead.
[Fri May 21 21:51:50 2010] Error reading XML/SOM.

So what did I do and how do I fix it?

think I figured it out - apparently my old eq shortcut target got changed and so it started to patch some of the p99 files.
