Patch looks decent, global ooc is going to help out a lot. The thing is though, servers population is going down not because of hate or sol ro being released. Exp and resist system is what is hurting the population and also the population itself.

I have been trading from blue to red and red to blue and I come across plenty of new people on red. Also have been playing higher end of red also before all this.

Ive learned that, people on red the newbies are always more in a trial period then anything. They are just curious about PvP. 80% of them come from blue and are bored with blue and are interested in doing something different. EXP is what should of been curved for this patch. Lets face it most of us are in our 20's and played EQ live in this current state when we were younger and had nothing to do but go to school. Could play EQ all the time. We are all older now and have familys and kids and just here to have some fun. The server is lacking a big problem, its boring. I myself, like to play a melee class. This is not going to happen because I may find a whole two groups going strong at night for a couple hours on the whole server. Thats if no PvP happens and I make it across the world. Very doubtful. Unless I have no life its not going to happen. EXP is a must because we are here to PvP as PvP is the most fun thing going for EQ Red server.

Just think about it.

Oh yea, what means more the to servers health? The newbies wanting to start up or the high end players thinking that the server is dead because of hate/solro.

This patch will do nothing for the population after a week. Global ooc might bring some peeps in but thats just to troll a bit and log off.

Just think about it.

Resist are all kinds of fed up. But im done typing f that you know why he knows why, we all know why.

pop has been around what latly? 60 or 70 maybe? I guarantee you it will average 120+ for a few weeks now.

all those "newbies" still have 50+ different zones to play in, and temple of sol Ro quests to do now too, they are fine. It is the level 50's all leaveing because there has been nothing to do for weeks now. They will all be back now that there is a new zone to raid.

Server pop doent lie, we shall see this week.

if i was a level 50 without a character in nihilum i would probably get bored real quick those,, type of players have been farming manastones nonstop now that thats taken away we may actually see a drop in pop with the legacy item removals,, what or what will the lamorts of the r99 world do now

Just a side note. You're going to see tons of posts tonight about how the pop is sitting around 120 and therefore the patch saved the day. DO NOT BE FOOLED NEW COMERS. This server ALWAYS hits 100+ when raid mobs are up because nihilum dials the bat phone and has about ~50 members online. This will be even more true tonight when they bring the bored nihilum members back for Hate. Can't wait to see 60 nihilum members in hate.

Server has a active pop of 120 you say?

Highest red EMU ever, sounds great. Doomsayers please GTFO, the rest of us trying to enjoy classic red99.

why dont you pick a side dude, you spend all your time making posts about what needs to be done to "save the server". then the day they implement some of your positive changes, you make a post telling newcomers to not be fooled.

This is not a PvP fun server. It is emulating the classic monotonous hell of a grind with PvP turned on.

Listen, I can't fault Rogean for patching. Thank you. But if you're asking me what is going to "save' the server, aka bring NEW players in not bored nihilum PVEers from blue, or the hardcore PVPers who all quit, it's not Plane of Hate and Sol Ro Temple. It was resist fixes which pissed off all the hardcore PVPers because skill is negated when you can be rooted with 300 MR, and EXP rates / hybrid penalty which kills groups and new comers.

Thats why its failing. EQ classic was horrible. You play video games to have fun, last time I checked Everquest was a game not life. Seems like your immersion level is high, go outside more.

Server needs faster XP and a resist system fixed for melees to thrive. Get real.
