so considering VD is/was the 2nd guild on the server, and it looks like they are getting back in to things, we can/should just assume that its back to business as usual around the server.

ah well, was fun for a few weeks

There was nothing fun about it. Gorenaire is basically unkillable unless you're VD/TMO so 3 guilds threw 90 people at him until he died. Then Sev/Tal were both early AM spawns so guilds had to combine efforts to take them down (well not the Tal kill, I'm sure TMO did the heavy lifting there)

Simulated patch days. No rolling repops. Variance is stupid

There were no 96 hour windows on raid mobs in classic. I think there was variance but I doubt it was more than a few hours. Someone who actually raided back then will have to chime in.

6-12 hours on some dragons, but most of it was a straight 7 day timer.

Here it is anywhere from:

3days +-18 hours Trakanon

3 days +-24 hours Maestro, Draco

7 days +-48 hours All other bosses

48-96 hour windows are completely unclassic on raid mobs.

On the other hand it spreads out the raids throughout the week/time zones so that more people have a chance to participate in raiding.

I think they intervened because VD was going to engage? Not sure. TMO never had to leave talendor up so really they can do what they want, although having spent nearly 3 days tracking I feel like I wasted a lot of time.

Also grats to Taken of course, it was their kill too.
Thanks Giegue it was fun, and thanks TMO too [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I don't really agree with that assessment. It takes a particular level of dedication to track at all hours of the day and batphone at all hours of the day on the quest for pixels. If things spawn between 2am and noon on a weekday I'm betting only TMO and VD could field a force of 30 people to down most high end targets.

Maybe at one point variance was good for the server but currently it only caters to the hardcore raiding guilds. Trak spawned at 2am last night and TMO smoked him with no competition. Most other guilds aren't going to wake up for pixels with work in the morning. I'd be surprised if Taken had more than 12 for talendor this morning.
