biggest thing for me is that global ooc and YT make it actually feel like i am playing an online game with/against other people instead of working a 2nd job in a cambodian sweat shop fufilling the lucrative demands of weak western consumers for hand knitted clicking of 1 and ctrl+s.

global ooc..

good things: people can chat find groups (which is hard) and feel a sense of "community".

bad things: "not classic"

***** please..

why is this even an argument, at least give us the option to join a global chat so people who want to chat can do it. 150-300 players isn't classic either, it's hard to find groups as it is.
I am not a dev. and this is not a "STAFF REPRESENTATION POST OMG" but here are things i've heard from various sources:

-Global OOC makes it easier for you to chase down someone you are griefing when people can help you for the lulz ... /ooc Darwoth just entered Oasis....'
-Global OOC increases the temptation for people to act stupid / say dumb things.
-Global yellow text increases the likelyhood of some of your fellow players acting like total ass clowns and breaking all sorts of rules JUST to get/ avoid the yellow text.

That said.....Global ooc would make it far easier for me to police the language used in ooc. I did it on beta. I coudl just sit there with #kick copied and ready to paste for when someone decided to go off calling people names like "******" or "cunt" etc.

I would absolutely have to have access to the power to mute global ooc though because when it's one of me and 200 of you......

And you are right. 200 players is NOT classic. It would be cool as hell if all 200 of you would go advertise for Red 99 on sites talking about free mmo's. Check out facebook - look for your old server's to have groups on facebook where you can talk - maybe you can hook up some of your old pals. even if you were an ex-bluebie you can hook up a few of your ex-bluebie friends and convert them. If you've made wow friends introduce them to the game.

MOST of the fun in playing EQ is the people.

Wow i'm rambly today [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Yeah I can see the chase someone down thing. A few people would surely have a bulls eye on their ass lol.

it's pretty difficult to get someone to play classic EQ who hasn't already played it, the grind, time wasted on travel / LFG, inability to solo, just to name a few. I tried to get my brother into it and he quit around level 15 or so. honestly, i didn't blame him. for 90% or more of us, this server is completely about nostalgia.
