Question Is it classic or not? Staff picking and choosing..

Ice comet. Selos. Mage pet procs. More.

Because Selos counted as a "bug" 2 years after classic, it was removed from p99 server, despite that it was classic.

That in consideration, I noticed that Maps were a bug, therefore it should be fixed in classic.

The map window should now be available to all players.
"

But was told "no".

Of course I don't want the maps because it wasn't classic, but it's considered a bug.

Why change the game mechanics that were NOT classic, but pick and choose others? Ice comet quest? Harvest spell? Mage pet swords? Why aren't the ones that actually damage the game not worked on first, even above my question?

What's with this pick and choose BS? Isn't it black and white what is classic and what is not?

It also allowed us to correct a long-standing bug that was
allowing bards to cancel root on themselves by playing Selo's
Accelerando if Selo's was in effect at the time that the bard was
rooted. "

There were COUNTLESS bugs (that many are now called "features") that were later added saying that this was meant to be fixed for a long time. Classic EQ had selos remove root, and this is the raw proof!

There will never be a fucking character wipe or server reset. STOP asking about it, STOP trolling about it, We DON'T do them. This is NOT VZ/TZ or any other server you may have been used to that happening.

Spamming in threads all over the forums to get your way is likely going to wind up with you losing the ability to post at all. You don't need 3+ threads for every topic.

"Discuss those in their own threads, unless you really want to derail the only worthwhile thread you've posted in the bug forum so far. " Is this not your quote? You confuse me, sir.

They already have threads. Several. I'd scold you for knowing that, but I really don't think you understand.

Of course there are graveyarded threads, but I searched and found that the answer is avoided in every single thread, generally with the same response, which is avoiding the question.

I'd be satisfied perhaps with a logical answer. So the basic question, without any trolling, is why implement non classic changes/bugs/features and be biased to other items with the argument of "NOT CLASSIC" when brought up? And back to ice comet, harvest, etc, why are these still in game while selos is non-classic nerfed?

The way I see it and would hope someone with anyone with a degree of common sense thinks about it is this the same way.

#1 - maybe they miss something like harvest, ok they acknowledge it. Uthgaard for some reason still comes back and helps out by stating "yeah we missed it, I'm going to show Nilbog my ancient chinese box secrets to remove the spell entirely". - OK so there's a response on that. Moving on, it shouldn't exist, tough shit someone (overly vocal in bragging) already got it use it all the way to 50 and others won't. As a wizard arguing the good argument *for* the existence of a classic implementation that just got the spell... I say remove it. That's the right thing to do and hey, they're going to. No complaints.

#2 - staff of the wheel / ice comet. Evidence is being gathered on this. People've found things from late 1999, discussion exists otherwise that it should be in, no verdict yet. If they remove it or not I can see why.

#3 - Bard selos, mages swords, any bug at all. These should all be removed. The sword issue is being removed next update I believe and received a staff response. The bard selo's is clearly a bug. Whether or not it was discovered yesterday or the first day of EQ alpha it is a BUG not a feature and damages the community in one way or another, see all the threads raising hell over them. Selo's removing root (hey sometimes I duo with a bard, we have many in our guild) is clearly something not intended and should be removed. Why anyone thinks a bug should stay just because it wasn't discovered until the day of or after January 1, 2000 is high on some shit. Even better, the staff I've spoke with or seen commenting have all applied common sense in removing things and have (try to hold yourself together on this one) even listened fairly to all sides regardless of approach. Sorry everything isn't removed the second you report it or without consideration.

Just because one thing is removed and not another doesn't mean they want to keep it or it will even be around for very long. Yeah it sucks some people who had 24 hours a day to play EQ got to use them until max level. However, on the timeline I believe is expected, it won't matter that much in the long run. There is a lot to be said for some patience for their ability to resolve these matters *correctly* in their free time. In my experience, bugs they say they fix are stamped out. If you take a second and think realistically about time invested, the consideration involved and the outcome of the events, you realize the choices are good for the server and can't always be fixed immediately or otherwise exist until more proof is provided etc.

correct a long-standing bug
I think this is exactly what they are trying to do, in every case.

tl;dr - Nirgon got trolled by the eye of zomm fake exploit, got on his war horse, realized he was being trolled, calmed down, fairly considered the situations and is sharing his enlightenment with you.
