| Wow this is alot of whining, even if the pet aggro is a bit touchy this is still the most OP class in the game. Just fear kite them when you get the ability to, and lol at the "I'm level 5 and my pet sucks NEC is nerfed too hard". You're level 5, EVERY class sucks at level 5 for shits sake. | ||

| I honestly don't remember how well my pet kept aggro on live. It seems on classic like the pet struggles mightily with aggro. My last memory of pet tanking was being like level 59 or so in some dungeon on live with a spectre pet and having NO issues with out aggroing the pet. Currently I am 27 with 24 Pet with Intensify Death and two weapons.... in SK fighting aviaks. Only can keep aggro on Egrets and Darters (green and light blue to me). That aggro can easily be broken by landing anything but lifetap. Like I said... not sure how classic this is. All of that is besides the point... You should be either kiting or simply tap-tanking the 1-11 level mobs until you get engulfing darkness at 12. At 27 I am fear kiting yellow and red Avo's at KFC with very little issue outside of the spell resistant avo.

| My experience with spell aggro is that the Heat/Boil Blood line causes significantly less aggro than anything else I would generally cast in combat (darkness, lifetaps, poison DDs, heart flutter). At 30, I can cast BB after my pet has only done a couple rounds of damage and not pull aggro. At 12, I recall waiting until the mob was at 75% health or so if I didn't want aggro. | ||

| Expect to tank for your pet through about 12. | ||

So obviously you have to keep the mob from hitting your pet while allowing your pet to stay in melee range. You can use your high-aggro spells to aggro kite, or you can fear-kite.

| My nec is only 11, but the trend with these pets I noticed is that they are pretty solid at the level you gain them, but completely a pushover once you are a level away from the next one. Not sure if this changes at later levels, i'm assuming by 20+ i'll be fear kiting and pet will be just like another dot, not a tank. | ||

| Snare the mob you are fighting then walk in the other direction.

Maybe they aren't supposed to, maybe it's broken, but some charmed pets do seem to be in fact taunting.
