Hey yall, I recently started playing again and my game seems a little funky. Any time my character is in mid air they slow to a crawl, like I just jumped into a pool of molasses or something.
This has several effects, one of which is that I don't seem to take any fall damage, no matter what height I fall from, as I simply 'slide' vertically down at a slow-ish but not glacial pace instead of properly falling. Second, it makes it basically impossible to jump over even the slightest crack or crevice, as my character will 'splat' into the invisible molasses and then proceed to slide downwards. Third, I no longer slowly sink when swimming in water, instead staying perfectly steady.. and fourth, levitate goes from a nausea inducing slow bob into an eye-watering fast vibration. I don't remember the game doing this the last time I played, about a year ago. The only thing about my computer that I have changed is upgrading my video card, because the old one finally died. Is there perhaps some sort of frame rate issue causing this bug? It might sound like no fall damage is cool, but all the other side effects more than make it a great inconvenience. Any advice would be appreciated. Also, I'm not using any third party programs to modify the game, only the basic game client. | ||

Levi, fall damage and a few other things are tied to FPS. Sounds like your FPS may be way too high for this game.
There is an FPS slider in the options but your system may be force unlocking it way beyond 100. If the in game slider wont lower it you may have to go into your video card control panel and limit the FPS for EverQuest to something between 60-100.

I shifted the FPS slider around and set it at 60, this seems to have fixed the problem immediately. Thank you!
