been on green like 3 weeks now and im kinda mixed on it. i love the old school feel, the zones, the grind, grouping is fun, all that stuff. but some of the people are toxic af.
one guy in full ntov gear literally sat right on top of me at my camp being passive aggressive till i went ld and lost it and just let me die, im just trying to scrape enough together to get some jboots, had someone ks me at lfay sisters, a druid try charge me 100p for potg when im in my 20s on my first toon, few level 60s from big guilds ignore tells for rez or sow. not saying everyone’s bad cause ive met some really cool players too, ones who help out or just chat for a bit, but the small man syndrome thing kinda ruins it. crazy seeing people loaded with raid loot trying to squeeze a few plat out of lowbies or bully them off a spawn. is this just green now or did i get unlucky? Seems nearly daily for me, makes me not want to play, if this is how sweaty it is.

The answer is both. The population is smaller than it was years ago - but alot of the no-lifers stuck around. Many of the casuals / decent players moved on to other servers or other games.
BUT there are still a boatload of decent players around. And still a lot of new players funneling in and good groups, etc to be had. It's funny, because I avoided Blue 10 years ago because of the same issues of Green in 2025.

anyone still playing p99 is hopelessly lost in severe pixel sickness

This is honestly crazy to hear. I have never once had a bad interaction with a player on green at lower levels. The only slight exception might be when someone is trying to either A) camp an epic piece or B) PLing someone whereby monopolizing the zone. I just leave and come back and it's fine. No point in fighting over it.
Inversely, I don't think I have EVER been asked for a tip for a buff or port (I tip, I'm just never asked). I have way too many people just offer me stuff out of the goodness of their hearts while I level up. I will ask for a price on an item, find out it's way out of my price range, then they just say here you go lol. So yeeeahhh. I have found Green to be SOOOO much less toxic and WAAAAYYYY more helpful than live ever was, that's for damn sure heh.

the passive aggressiveness I get that feeling but... just to clear the air.
1. The culture here is to wait 25 years to get the pixels you want if you have to. so people are totally fine waiting 6 hours for a camp. They are not hoping you die. 2. the people here follow the rules to a T.. so they are just going to sit there for 6 hours till you die or go LD and then take their turn. So its passive, but not agressive, they will wait for 4 days if they have to. Dont feel rushed or anything, let them wait.

Well, to be fair, I am also lower level so not doing content with camp disputes lol. But I got the impression that OP was lower since it's only been 3 weeks.

p99 is fine until you get into either the raid scene or the really high end cash camps
this is where the bergs reside stay away from the bergs

By most MMO metrics p99 has one of the best communities out there. There's always gonna be dipshits here and there but for some reason I can't explain I always had the worst experiences with players at trivial levels. Never bothered enough with the end-game scene to get riled up by some of the asshattery that goes on there.
For each bad one there's a dozen good ones. Also, if you respect the rules there's ain't much to argue about. You go LD and the camp isn't yours, nobody's entitled to rez or buff you (also many players are afk or busy when you ask and do get a lot of tells) or help you in any other way. Don't expect handouts and you won't be disappointed.

The fact that we have such a great community, in spite of having far less rules-enforcement than paid servers, speaks volumes.
