The point was this group is meant to master death not to master reincarnation. Paladins and Clerics seek to eradicate death, these classes embrace it as a way of life!

Clerics (and Paladins) can take someone back from death itself ...but they aren't masters?

In other words being able to take a tennis ball out of the hand of the world's #1 tennis player is a big difference from being a Tennis master

It's more like making the tennis master lose the game he just won. If that isn't mastery ...
