![]() I just updated my Magelo to show the upgrades I've bought in the past week and a half or so. I haven't been able to follow your recommendations as much as I'd like due do the availability of items in the EC tunnel but I'm pretty happy with what I've bought. The notable changes are my face, back, belt, and 2nd bracer. I've increased both my AC and my wisdom. I think I'm good for now and will focus on saving money for spells at this point. My plan for armor is to go for the Coldain faction armor next, once I go over level 52.
https://wiki.project1999.com/Magelo_Green:Malkor I did manage to go on a Nagafen raid and while I died once getting to him I didn't get in the way too much I think. We killed him anyways, so that's good, Now I just need to fight Vox.

![]() I wouldn't bother with the dwarf armor, castle does HoT farms every week and the dragon armor is much better.
The big pieces like legs will take some time to build up enough dkp for but otherwise most of the stuff very reasonable. Vindi bp also very reasonable to buy with dkp these days, seem to go for around 40 -50now,depending how hard we're hitting Derek. Vox might take some time to actually go on a kill, vox is a very contested mob and a couple guilds hit her really hard.

![]() Growth rots or HoT armor ftw. You can get by on pre-velious rather than wasting effort on thurg imo.

![]() go guildless til 60 if you can. or at least dont raid. it will help you learn to be self sufficient and youll get really good at being a shaman on a budget (which means when youre a shaman with baller gear youll be invincible)
lots of players on this emulator attach to a guild like a leech and wind up getting all their gear through sitting semi AFK on raids for hundreds of hours. it winds up being like the same 12 people for each raid doing all the work because everyone else just got recruited to the same guild and all they have to do is show up to earn dkp

When you're not in a raid guild, raid guilds seem big and scary, and you're willing to waste A LOT of time to be "self-sufficient" and avoid them ... or at least I was. But do you know what you're going to do once you get 60/epic/Torpor? That's right: join a guild and raid. Once you do, you realize they're not so big and scary, and you can still solo as much as you want. But you also realize that instead of wasting months grinding Drooga (or wherever) to save up enough plat for a tear, you could simply help ten guildmates with fights for their epic, and then get a tear "for free". Depending on the guild, you can also likely get Torpor more easily than farming 100kp, and if you want to farm a fungi or JBB yourself, you're more likely to find folks to do Seb with (on a non-raid night) than you are with strangers. Again, I was 100% solo for my first few years with Loramin ... but once I actually gave a guild a chance, I found the game was a whole lot more fun, and I felt stupid for wasting all that time solo farming (especially for my epic).

![]() you can get insane gear just by showing up to occasional raids
or do shit to help the most active members, kiss some elf bootyhole, they'll hand you a copy of torpor

![]() Well Toxigen, due to reading a ridiculous amount of fantasy literature at an impressionable age, I will admit to having a bit of an elf kink. (Mmm, pointy ears...) I do try to draw the line at kissing bootyhole though, lol.

Remember folks: it's the journey that matters. No time is wasted on a server that refuses to reset/wipe/merge. Do not. And I repeat. Do not prioritize level's over gear on project 1999. Take 3-4 years to get to 60 and you will enjoy this game a lot more than folks who dont play anymore because their characters require hard core raiding to make any gains. Tox gave some great gear advice IMO. Also: Don't get rez's. EXP Death's are a blessing on this infernal purgatory we call a server. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
