Default Why don't people ever group in chardok?

I didn't really wanna make a whole thread but I didn't see a good one to post this in.

I know people group at castle ent, but that's basically it. I was on my chanter farming bank and it just dawned on me "how come there isn't a group here farming this instead of me?"

Seems like it would be great xp for a good group of high 50's and lots of valuable, droppable loot that could be rolled on.

Is it because it's a pain in the ass to get to? Cause seb kinda is too and people group there all the time. And it's not like chardok is perma camped by chanters and necros, it's often empty or theres only one or two people, with many open camps.

My guess is people don't wanna tank their faction, but again people group at CE pretty often and they're tanking their faction in the process, so why no groups farther in?

Oh and I meant to post this in green discussion not offtopic lol.

P99 already lacks enough players, relative to classic, and then that's exacerbated by the server's unclassic rules (eg. very few Enchanters group here, because solo charming is unclassically safe and much better XP ... whereas on live Enchanters were a primarily group class).

In short, there just aren't enough grouping players to sustain groups in all the good dungeons ... so perfectly good dungeons like Chardok go un-used, as everyone sticks to the most popular/convenient places.

Loramin is correct. It's mostly a population issue. I remember there did used to be groups at one point. I spent a lot of time there joining random groups. Another issue is getting down to a camp is tough, groups have to clear the way to pick up their replacements.

I agree with loramin about the population issue- although it's been this way in chardok since green regularly hit 1k+ prime time, which is a relatively healthy population. I don't think that's a major reason.

Also, factioned necros and shamans farm the shit out of chardok too. Can't just blame it all on the evil enchanters.

There's "healthy" population (as we P99ers perceive it in 2024) ... and then there's classic population ...

NOTE: I have no idea what date, time of day, etc. this was taken on, but it gives you some idea:

My server, Bristlebane, was rocking it with 2500+ [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Okay so it was roughly 2k instead of 1k. That would still mean p99 should have half the number of groups in chardok compared to classic, rather than none at all beyond the entrance, all other factors being equal.

But all other factors aren't equal. First off, people don't distribute themselves among all dungeons equally: they cluster at the most popular dungeons. But more importantly, there's the other half of my post.

Sololing is far more prevalent on P99 than it was on live, and every soloer is one less LFG person. This is true for a lot of reasons: the aforementioned unclassic P99 rules, the vastly increased player knowledge ... even the superior internet connections of 2024 (in '99 even solo classes joined groups, just so someone would keep them alive if they got disconnected!)

I'd guesstimate soloing on P99 is twice as popular, which means we really have the grouping population of a server half our size (ie. roughly 1/4 of live).

I leveled 55-60 in Chardok on my Druid and grouped plenty. It was a great time, actually
