Default I need UI help

When I first log into EQ my UI is the original UI and looks horrible. It has boxes everywhere and a really low resolution. I fixed the UI to the way that I want it (changed reso and moved boxes). After logging out of the game and back in .. it reverts right back to the way it was before (low reso and boxes all over my screen) as if I had never adjusted it in the first place. I have also noticed that the screen that requests my username and password is not saving my username on it like it use too. Please assist me with what is going on and how to fix it. Thanks guys.

Problem Fixed. Thanks for the support. I created the shortcut out of a "desktop" folder and it works great.
