The internet is basically dead.

Facebook is its own internet, so is discord, and instagram.

Tiktok. Reddit makes up 30% of the traffic online.

The internet is dead, and gone.

This website is one of the last outposts, in a vast wasteland of vapid whores that sell feet pics on a secret internet you cant access unless you buy an account.

after we bag/van up all the democrats we'll clean up the internet.
I do think the country would be more healthy if states had more power to govern themselves without Federal interference. I think that would allow for us to go back to the United “states” vs some giant blob of Americans we are today. I think it’s best if we retain our differences.

Nah guys Pandora's Tech Box is blown wide open, it couldn't even be reassembled even if we could put the tech back in.

We're gonna have to learn to live with it, and if human history is any indication then only a few of us are gonna survive it

a "carrington event" type flare wouldn't even destroy all tech as the vast majority of military tech like weapons and communications and corporate tech like data centers and a plethora of other devices are already electromagnetic radiation shielded from the fears over nuclear bombs, or they are paranoid about things like solar flares, or it was just built that way.

Gamma ray burst might do the job tho, could pray for that

society feels fragile enough right now that a solar flare might just cause enough chaos where they couldn't get shit back on the rails. or having to deal with actual reality for some amount of time might snap enough people out of this zombie state to get us back on a path that isn't as fucked.

i feel like a nonconsensual camping trip affectively would do a lot of good for people right now. minus all the people who would die without power at hospitals n stuff when the generators run out..etc..etc

Still thots and prayers for 2029. It's probably idolatry tho.

yeah you're right even if a solar flare did hit, everything that isn't EM hardened would be toast

and you're right that it would immediately shove 99% of humans back into the stone age. Food would be the real problem, because there are so many structures built already that shelter isn't gonna be a problem.

so it's gonna be mad max killing each other over the last can of soup for awhile, but after that once society becomes agrarian again things will be ok. of course there will be alot of tribal fighting with clubs and sharp pieces of metal, but frankly that's the world we evolved to live in, not this social media abhorrence we see today.

and everyone will appreciate life alot more, the morning sun and dewy breeze feels like heaven when last night you had to slash a man to death for no other reason then he was going to slash you to death.

I urge everyone to remember in their genetic memory what that life was like, and how fragile this veil of civilization really is.

Wouldn't it only hit one side or portion of the Earth at once?

Vis Major ftw! ✝️

smaller flares just cause crazy auroras for a few minutes or hours

bigger solar flares like the ones that would roast our tech last for hours or days even. think of a desktop globe spinning and you shine a flashlight at it for 10 or 60 seconds, its gonna rotate in the beam of light like a rotisserie chicken.

carrington event is estimated to be in between there, as ppl didn't get roasted so it was like a small-medium flare, these things happen all the time we're just fortunate that it occurs in 3 dimensions which makes the likelihood rare, imagine tryin to hit a dart board while you are inside a rotating sphere that is rolling and pitching

gamma ray bursts same thing, but orders of magnitude worse, would turn earth into mars in less than a day

and now we're into apocalypse porn

I've always been a huge doomer about this shit, but someone who had been in the middle of a disaster i forget what it was Katrina or someshit said he was surprised how not bad it was, like neighborhoods instantly turn into quasi tribes just due to proxity of each other and each other's shit they care about property,family..etc and you easily fall back into that "lets worry about the outsiders not each other" mindset. but people need to be ready to handle their own shit for like 2 weeks in a FEMA is coming eventually kinda mild situation. but longer than that you start running into all sorts of problems
