Unfortunately even if OP apps to kingdom or any raid guild and gets accepted, he'll quickly realize that he's still gonna be passed over within his own guild unless he poopsocks and clique's up. Seemingly every guild on green now has the same pitch: "Join us cause it's totally laid back but also raid friendly" blah blah. We all know the people who are on discord and in game 24\7 are treated differently than the warm bodies.

But that's the beauty of DKP guilds: the hardcore players get enough DKP to deck their third alt out in Vulak gear ... while all the more casual players play a lot less, slowly save up DKP, and buy something cool for themselves every so often. Both pay the same price for everything: the hardcore people don't get special discounts or anything.

In either case though, you can be as hardcore, or as softcore, as you want. I mean, sure, if you're Mage wanting an epic, you'll probably have to track Hate. But for everything else, it's simply a matter of being online and showing up to whatever mob someone else tracked.

Well yes, and again I think it more or less should be that way. I guess my beef is with how guilds pitch themselves to new members, I wish they'd be a little more transparent and honest.

They should say: "Join our guild, it's "laid back" in the sense that you can earn DKP and eventually spend it, provided the guild doesn't fall apart before you ever get to bid on anything and also I hope you don't mind that everyone will probably ignore you the first few months of your membership if you need help with something that isn't a dkp-earning event. Join Seal-Safe-King-Legacy-Foh-Fow today!"

Focusing more on positive thinking, imagine next time you log on to eq, it could be your perfect session with your perfect character, what would that be like? What would you do?

On the other side of the coin you could just ask the group if they need one more while you’re porting them

I pointed you toward a good guild on blue in kittens so if you ever decide to switch again and are willing to level to level 15 (I think that’s the minimum level for a new member) they are always a great option for a solid community that does multiple events during the week for high level chars

Yup you did, and I applied. They wouldn't take me though. Granted I was only level 9, but also an untwinked level 9 (so it was going to take me a while to get to 15). Explained as such in the app, but they didn't care. It just led to me believing that they're a guild that wouldn't really care about me as a person, only a level number.

Figured if I was just going to be lonely anyway, it might as well be on green where I have a box of abu-kar.
