Made a shaman kinda enjoying it since the code isn't a hunk of shit so stats/mechanics actually work right. EXP rate is slow as fuck though.

so anyway - idea: play on this carebear box, but do arena meetups to prove who the kingshit of pvp is.

It's not red server but it doesn't seem like a terrible idea either.
Lemme know how those dragon rotations (LOL, everyone gets a turn, hooooooray for bluebies) go for ya, I hear you sit around in naggy's lair for hours upon hours caressing fellow player's penises. Sounds like a fucking blast.

Also, the only 2 people on the planet that think you are cool (your mom and dad) do not care Searyx that you are a no skill eq pvp scrub, who plays servers that my 5 yr old nephew is bored of.

So don't worry about everyone finding out.

If you end up playing there I've got a lowbie monk in his teens, I think, that I wouldn't mind spending some time on duoing with a shammy. Also have a 52ish necro that I haven't touched since about 2 weeks after kunark.

I am playing there and while my initial reaction to the exp rate was to cut my dick off and/or cry into my pillow, I am enjoying it more now (lvl 7 shm god damn, watch out)

a raid rotation is pretty gay but it's also not that much different to me than train-fucking eachother for zone control.

There was very little actual PvP on that last box. And I really have nothing to prove to any of the 20-or-so career red boxers who have been here the past five years because we've all killed eachother already. How much times are Knuckle and I going to fight? We've probably done that 30+ times already. The Book of Knuckle and Searyx should be closed by now.

The NO RULES ANYTHING GOES really does take a shit on the pvp potential too. That means training replaces PvP anywhere that you can train. And it means entire guilds are running the Kringe MQ Build (tm). I had people poof/warp/instacamp on me when I was moving in for a kill several times. And if that isn't possible, we can always fall back on the old tried-and-true zoneplug. I always enjoyed BOTBs because it was so plain and simple and forced people to actually, you know, fight eachother.

Also just playing the newb lvls on P1999 makes me realize how fucking BAD the PVE code is for any of our red boxes. It is not just bad/broken/incomplete, but it's also way too easy. Spells land on everything, lull works on everything, 1-50 in eight hours, paladin in shit gear can solo the frenzied ghoul, etc.

It is no challenge and ultimately makes for a server that despite being red is actually less challenging than the blue one. That's the reality bros.

Pray for a red server using the P1999 code/db, because nothing short of that is worth the time.

I think you would really have a lot of fun with training on a server with p99's code (where mobs have actual pathing and don't just go through walls). That doesn't mean you should do it or that training should be allowed if red99 comes out (I have no opinion either way), but that you can get some really fun trains since you can predict where the mobs will path. It also means ae groups in dungeons work better.

Anyways, I'm glad you appreciate blue99 for how well-coded it is, even if you've sacrificed a lot of your street cred in coming out of the closet about it.

edit: by the way, rotations are very rare on p99. So is poopsocking honestly (it just seems to happen with trakanon). Most of the time guilds race to raid mobs and it's actually quite fun when there's a patch and the server comes back up and all mobs respawn (like how it was on Live). So, there is some level of competition, you just can't kill other people.

Training should not be part of EQ PvP whatsoever, because it gets in the way of PvP and instead forces the absolute worst part of PvE (corpse run!). And this is coming from a monk player.

The bluebie/carebear stuff is funny plus SUPER EFFECTIVE at trolling people - I am even calling some people bluebears on this box. I don't need to back up my PVP STREET CRED tho, considering I played by myself on Verant's permadeath PvP server against Darkenbane MQ kiddies, and won anyway, I will never really have to.

Ultimately what drives me to play any video game is challenge. P1999 does not have PvP, which is a shame, but you cannot deny that it does get the PvE side right and poses a very strong challenge there.

I'd hope that any red boxes will consider that, and will understand why P1999 works and just make their shit 99% classic. The first step should be full itemization and NPC fills in the database. Then carbon-copying the P1999 resist and combat/AC formulas. Those things alone would put any new PvP box way ahead of any previous ones. Unless your name is Null and your custom content is Rile, then custom crap will not work.

will prob check that red69 box in a few weeks to see where its at then
