Cannot melee moving targets
Hey all, came back after a 2 year hiatus and logged in on Green. Made a new Bard in Freeport and am having an issue where I can't seem to melee any moving targets. I keep getting the message that I'm too far away, even when I'm literally in the mob. When I get closer I can "no longer see" the target. Do I have a ini setting that needs to be updated? Any advice?

The best thing Ive found to do is to strafe beside the target to create a bigger range to land hits

Move closer to Rogean’s house and use the same isp. Maybe try wired instead of wifi.
I too found strafing the best way to deal with fleeers.

I have to 3rd the strafe technique. I also found it useful to switch out of first person view. This can help judge the distance between you and the mob a bit better. When fighting flying mobs I found moving the view to overhead really helps to keep the proper distance with the mob when attacking.

Use /viewport to make your screen taller helps improve sense of positioning too.

I believe part of the problem is auto attack swing will "swing" even if you are out of range. So even if you get back in range of melee you are still on CD. Probably more noticeable with a slower weapon. But yeah combination of hit box, lag, shit game etc.
