I was there when trump was elected. There was room for him because left and right were looking like stale swamp rats, as you say, and Trump clowned on the republican parties establishment goons.
They voted for trump against hillary because she was a shoe-in candidate and acted like she was entitled to the job. Democrats voted against her because the DNC shut bernie out when he was wiping the floor with her. All this, probably a facebook experiment to see if it would work, and it did. And now we all hate eachother more than ever. We get these stale shit parties because we keep getting convinced to vote AGAINST the guy we HATE SO MUCH Don't do that. Love your neighbor and vote for something good, don't accept the false binary. Vote for a good guy every time even if he loses and the parties will know they suck and if everyone voted non "strategically" in 2020 we woulda had no biden and no trump, cuz both of those guys suck. Just don't accept these shitty guys.

I literally dont believe in American politics because I think it's a mathematic impossibility to convince the greater half of 320 million people to do anything worthwhile so they all just make up their own reasons to vote for whichever demagogue they think is better than the other.

You don't start by convincing half of them. You start by convincing one p99 forum guy, or more likely, one friend of yours or your sibling or parent.
Like you said, 320 million voting for who knows what, so why don't you just go ahead and vote for who you believe in? Make it easy just choose whoever is libertarian, or whoever is green depending on your tendencies that year. The next year your one friend will have convinced one other friend, maybe, and you might convince another one, maybe. Don't look at the macro picture and be discouraged. Democracy is a hard project. 320 million people being attacked by facebook mind guns, netflix mind guns, disney mind guns, amazon mind guns, working mind numbing jobs is a really different apparatus to wield, to care for, to create community in. Its not easy to be a country. It takes some effort to make a good one. We can't look to these slimeballs to give us leadership. We need to look to our neighbors and form a community with everyone around us, and own the whole apparatus from the bottom up, as it was intended. Change comes from you, just like all the hard work, just like everything else.

Voting for Jill Stein till you die I would a hundred percent support and the only thing I know about her is that she is the green party candidate.
