*If you are referencing the Internet before the Iphone and social media apps, message boards are socializing but not the form smartphones would take. You know, the Internet that Mark Zuckerberg himself made safe for grandma to share photos on.

One of the reasons frequently cited for the decline of the genre is the contemperaneous rise of social media. It's become a truism to assert that turn-of-the-century MMORPGs were the social media of their day. For many hundreds of thousands - millions - of people, playing an online game provided their first and for a while their only experience of talking in real time to friends and strangers around the world.

Weird how they have "freedom" when it comes to stopping other people from going to work.. but when its their job which 90% of truckers are vaccinated, this is 10%, a crying minority of white people who demand special treatment.

They have the freedom to get a new job.

They should anyway. I keep saying they are testing all this veyo auto-driving technology because they want self-driving cars and trucks. They’re going to need a person for a long while, but eventually esp if they stop having any issues it’s only a matter of time before they go fully auto

Truck driver is a job threatened by automation, just on a slower timeline. They should learn a tradeskill that requires a diagnostic to repair something, like plumbing, AC/heat repair, electrician, etc. It will be really hard if not impossible to automate a visual diagnostic on some apparatus, esp since it requires using hands and moving stuff around

Should that new tradeskill these truckers hypothetically learn be subsidized in any way by taxpayers? Their employers who automate their jobs out of existence if the robots ever actually start driving those trucks safely?

I ask because mass retraining programs, at least in America, don't exactly have stellar results on the whole. Maybe the Canadians have done better in the past, idk.
