If they posted a price I’d organize to get it paid

Can't we all just ask the dev team what their price is? I'm sure if all of us pulled together funds we can make it happen, after all, we're not the broke teenagers we once were when starting EQ. Most of us should be able to donate considerable amounts for a passion/hobby like EQ. But seriously, money makes things happen. I'm sure Rogean needs a new something in his life and at least will be willing to come to the negotiation table..
Here is the problem, legally he cannot charge for any service attributed to the server. Daybreak owns the intellectual rights to OG Everquest. They cut him a deal allowing him to use the code for this EMU in exchange for some of his code to make their classic progression servers.

But he cannot charge for any service related to this box, he can only accept donations. Why do you think he comes down on RMT so much and tries to erase any mention of it off the forums. Because even RMT makes him legally vulnerable.

So he cannot give a price to anything, you can give a bulk donation in the hopes of Red, but there is no guarantee.

The price is a few dollars a month recuring paypal donation, if each of us did that then they'd be rich and could go travel the world and never have to update the game ever aga.... waitaminuet.

Could probably just throw a party in Vegas with whores and drugs. I can supply the drugs and men. Someone book the room!

Fair enough. So let's contact Daybreak and see what their position is. Say someone would make a compelling case and present it to them and say: Hey, we're 500 players that are dying to get a fresh pvp server but P99 aren't responding to our request and we suspect it has to do with the fact that they might be violating some kind of unknown agreement. What can we do to get our server (willing to pay) and keep everyone happy?"

In the end, it's probably 1 or 2 people that need convincing and as I mentioned, it's usually just a matter of (enough) money. At least get a dialogue going?

Thank you.
By the way, maybe I'm not seeing it, but do we have anything to lose by opening up a dialogue?

They would immediately say no and point you to their trash progression servers with weird code. Mainly because companies like money.

I'm not telling you not to try, I'm just telling you the inevitable outcome based in reality and not fantasyland.

You said it yourself: "companies like money".
Wasn't that exactly what I said in my suggestion? That is the way with which you solve the problem. Now, it's a different matter all together whether or not the PvP loving EQ community can actually muster up the required money to make things happen, but for sure, that is the solution to almost any issue in the world.

Look, I'm not saying we will be successful with Daybreak/Rogean/whoever is pulling the strings, just pointing out the way to approach the subject.
