The median home price in this country in 2021 is $758,990 The median salary is 75k That is, the most average home in this country is 10x the average salary. Median home prices were 2-4x the average salary with similar interest rates to todays (discounting our covid interest rates we have at this very moment that went up today mind you). In populated areas home prices can be 25x the median home value, making home prices in populated areas 15, 20, 30 times the salaries of the people that live there. Salaries for the same jobs are not 15 times larger in San Francisco than they are in Atlanta. Simply put, the system we have had, has created a incredibly tense situation, that can be seen throughout our daily lives in this shit hole country. I love my home. But it cost way too much.

![]() This is the peak of the housing market caused roaring 2010's Everest. Hopefully the economy we built out of inflating home values is so high the long road to sea level (depression 2) will take as long as it took to get where we are today.
But usually going down a mountain is faster. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Major legistlation needs doing to fix home situation probably in the entire western world as corporation are buying up homes everywhere. In most cases there is finite supply due to either land shortage in nice areas or more often regulations keeping new homes from being built at all or being built cost effectively.

![]() What really makes me sad is when I see like on r/oldschoolcool "my dad buying his first property" and it's like a 25 year old dude standing on a giant empty coastline on a road with no homes on it.
The finite supply issue is brutal and reminds me of a forest. Nature has a solution to that issue, and if you know me you know I think we're trending towards it. But lets pretend we figure out a way for man to beat nature? It's crazy to imagine a world that is Tokyo in every direction, but that is inevitable unless we're talking a new wild west in space.

![]() I knew the reason the left shamed me for voting for the green party was because they wanted to cut down the rainforests.

![]() Literally 5-6 calls AND texts EVERY day from big investment companies asking if I would be willing to sell my property in phoenix
At this point I've tried every possible answer. The worst thing you can do is confirm you are the owner but say you are not interested in selling. They have a scripted response to that where they will keep you on the line trying to get more details so they can make you an offer. I was hoping one might say "How about 1 million dollars?" but they are more cagey than that, you'll never get an actual dollar offer on the first call So that answer is out. My friend/co-worker said what he does is claim to not be the owner. I've tried that excuse, but they have a scripted response to that asking who the owner is and if I know how to get in touch with them So at this point I've found the best answer to be "I'm not the owner and I'm at work and have to go" and just hang up on them as they are mid sentence with their scripted response These calls are incredibly annoying especially since I am expecting calls from my home insurance and other services so I can't just ignore every call I don't recognize [You must be logged in to view images.
