Brother trying to create an account but isn't receiving verification email

Wondering if there's anything I can do to help him get started. He can't get the account started to connect to the forums to ask himself

If it is a Google email account sometimes @gmail.com has issues going through but if you use @googlemail.com instead those seem to have more success
