been in this symphony's space in and out for a few months now, having defeated fascism myself by supreme valor and paid back my lend lease and dropped the a-bomb. Bernstein does it the best imo, even better than the soviet orchestras which do have kind of a weird power with russian music. and that superiority in this piece does seem apropos from this guy's nose. Ver y good recording, extremely worth your time.

good huh?? that 2nd movement is so nuts and the finale stuff of course big. i like how it's built out of clunky russian peasant sounding bits but still gets huge and smoove
