To me it looks like some Americans would like to be a hero. Show the world that you are very tough. Because there's nothing stronger than running with the American flag against the enemy and screaming FREEDOM.

It has become a matter of belief for these people. Because for them, faith is more important than facts.
The sad thing is that you can use both for yourself at the same time if you leave faith in your heart and the facts in your brain.

I dont mind that culture, but why does that very tough culture have to be very dumb?

Something went wrong, we can have both, like you can be tough and wear clothes and hats and sunglasses, but somehow we became so dumb we thought masks were different.

Its not like anyone in the military will tell you to ever go into battle without a helmet on.

God forbid you wave a gun around while telling a joke to these people.

But asking someone to wear a 3x5 inch cloth around their mouths? Satan worship.

This is important. Science is just conclusions, which are sometimes wrong, reached upon looking at data. Nothing more than that or it's a religion. It's basically a religion though. I'm holding out for physics to shift to the way more fun paradiggum that everything actually is magic.

I don't think anyone would have a problem if you don't wear a mask at your own risk, but without a mask the chances of infecting others are greater.

you're right.

anyway, these dumb fucks who dont wear a mask in stores etc. think that their feelings are more important than other peoples rights and health. So fuck them, I wont feel sorry if they get infected, but I hope karma fucks them deep if they infect others because they dont care.

Serious question for the pro mask brigade. How many times a day do you wash your hands for the full 20+ seconds? Also do you still try and social distance regardless of masks or not?

Masks do help but not nearly as much as distancing. Both of those combined are less important as washing your hands.

But the 20 seconds is an article of faith as well! They didn't put coronavirus on someone and then had them wash for 10 seconds and then they went nuh uh let's do 15 seconds next. They just picked 20 seconds because those are the existing guidelines for other contaminants. Maybe we need 45 seconds because it's sticky; we just don't know.

And the whole hands are the vector is just supposition too! Maybe airborne transmission is the main vector and your hands don't matter that much cause it just lands on your eyes or goes right up your nose through the space in your flimsy mask. They didn't put coronavirus on people and have them pick their noses either.

Everyone is guessing. You can follow Yahweh or Ba'al, it's your choice as always. Tablets on your face or a golden calf up your ass, surely something will protect you.

Completely agree social distancing is the key.

As a career everquest player I always maximise my time spent at home, and minimising exposure to others.

Generally I'll only don the mask when entering enclosed spaces with non-household members. It is very rare I go in such a place as we are able to procure most things online (Amazon on the up and up). AFAIK the only time I've been indoors, besides my own house, is when I had to get a tyre replaced on the car.

Regarding hand washing, 20 seconds works because it lets you sing 'God Save The Queen' enough times to invoke the mystical protection of The Lady.

It's basically the same reason Brettonnians in Warhammer always took the second player turn, and the severity of corona in the states is USA's karma for forsaking the eternal Woman-Emperor of Britainkind.
