We shall see pretty soon here how these large gatherings of people throughout major US cities has affected the proliferation of this virus. It is strange how amongst people who I know personally, those who wanted to shut down the global economy for a year a couple weeks ago are also the most vocal about the need to take to the streets. I guess we might find out what exactly this new virus can do.

[You must be logged in to view images. but, the news said that mass gatherings for the purpose of protesting police brutality would not negatively impact the public health, while simultaneously saying that mass gatherings to protest the extension of lockdowns would, last weekend!

Hey BlackBellamy
I use to follow that John Hopkins stuff fairly close. After discovering my state and county also kept track of all this covid19 stuff I started comparing notes. After talking to friends from around the country it seems a lot of places have more up to date and accurate numbers. John Hopkins is severely outdated and sensationalist garbage at this point. It serves no purpose beyond making people think the world is ending and we're all going to die.

Without revealing your own state and county, can you tell us some of the other places that have numbers which are off?

I'm in Washington. John Hopkins is showing accurate total cases at 23k. They're close enough to total deaths at 1190.
However they're also still showing 23,178 active cases. If you take a peek at Snohomish and Pierce Counties (King County has decided to not show active/recovered cases) most people have recovered. One of my sisters lives in Jefferson County, Kentucky. Looking at the numbers published betwen JH and KDPH site shows a lot more people recovered. My father and his wife live in Monmouth County, NJ. JH and their state website are showing total cumulative cases. Both are also showing positive recovered cases. What's missing are all the cases that were confirmed from March through early June but have since recovered. CDC website says if you test positive but showed no symptoms to self quarantine for 10 days. Since getting all the data in one place is problematic (simply not out there) anybody that analyzes the data would have to conclude a lot of the positive cases that didn't end up in a health care facility from March through mid May have recovered. New Jersey still showing 124k active cases when most of those cases were diagnosed in March and early April....the sniff test is telling me "sensationalist garbage" is accurate.
