I avoid tanking any faction that I can't repair. I skip the derv camps on every character.

NBG sucks badly, especially for non-melee. Melee characters can claim NBG on way more wonderful toys that have resale and twink value than casters and priests. Go with rolling for every sellable. In the long run it's fairer on everyone.
