It was set before EverQuest so it was a tad different. For instance, NRO didn't exist yet, it was still the High Elf city of something. Can't remember.

It was okay, but it was very fast and very consol-ly. My brother played it for a long, long time, even forsaking EverQuest for it. It wasn't for me.

I just want to be clear: If you ever look at me and I look like a luclin model, then you are assaulting ME and my hard work gearing my beautiful dark elf.

I would agree with your point here. A lot of people are under the impression that it doesn’t matter what they see in the game because it doesn’t affect anyone else, but your character is your identity in this game and your appearance is an important part of that. When Luclin models were first introduced as an option, it was a hit to player immersion, at least for me, because I wouldn’t be experiencing the same thing as other players. Not very mmorpg like.

I could only take a few posts of the whole "im a victim give me luclin models" shtick

Did anyone mention to him about the other everquest projects that are past luclin? like p04 or the mac server where its like in warlords of desolace or something with the boat, big turtle in starting zone and key flag instances and one of them has an ogre illusion mask?

Yes. As you can imagine, he had no interest in having his issue actually resolved, he just wanted to bitch and complain.

They only play on P99 apparently for the no boxing rule and actively dislike every change the developers make to make the game more classic.

It’s a fucking train wreck.
tbf i don't blame them, the no boxing rule is an insanely good thing and unique to p99. even if I hated classic too, I'd probably still play here.

also in case OP isn't trolling I do feel kind of sympathetic to their plight even if it's totally unreasonable. many people's childhood games are essentially being destroyed forever by little more than a lack of profitability. imagine if you played Monopoly all the time as a kid and you woke up one day as an adult and Monopoly was just gone and could only be reproduced with staggering amounts of highly specialized labor. yikes.

^^ Definitely, this.

But I chortled and snortled @ "Ruining my immersion."

It's just one of those 'buzz-phrases' that one cannot say out loud without expecting raucous laughter. Much like, but not limited to: "MAGA," "Obamacare," "My mama/granddaddy to-old me," "Synergy," "Juxtapose," "Dove-tail," "I've got a PowerPoint on that," and "Looks like this is a grats [name]."
