XML Update
Hey. So I had zero experience with modifying EQ UIs before a few days ago. So given my self-taught crash course in making some simple modifications I have run into a few snags that may need to go untouched for the time being.

1. Hover Text Highlighting Color is Yellow. This appears to be some sort of default that I am unsure if I can change. I am not sure what RGB code of yellow they would have used, so I can't even search for a particular RGB value to figure it out.
2. Hot Button text is always white. Even though I have defined in the EQUI_HotButtonWnd.xml all of the buttons to use a black text, they always revert by default back to white. This doesn't matter for for social macros (as you can define these colors when you create them) but if you create macros by pressing and holding a button (Taunt, Kick, Melee Attack, Bind Wound, etc) and then placing that on your hot button window. The text will be white, with seemingly no way of modifying it.
3. Any Hot buttons that are on cooldown, will actually turn the background transparent. It seems to only happen on the Velious UI, and not other UIs I think. So there must be a way to fix it in the XMLs... No idea how.

I found this thread which looked like the exact answer I needed. However it must be part of a newer version of EQ UI Support, because those XML tags didn't seem to help me at all.

So if anyone has any ideas, let me know! I have asked deezy to take a look at it as they had a long running thread in the Tech Discussion for the Rustle UI. So hoping that their experience may be able to lead me in the direction of a solution.

I installed Trilogy (using 2001-copyright disks, there are also 2002-copyright disks called "trilogy" that were from a second production run and are a little different). It seems the old UI is of a totally different architecture than in Titanium. There are no .xml files anywhere to be found.

I could, however, fire up the original Tutorial. This shot is from maybe 20 minutes ago but could just as easily be 20 years ago. How's this for a blast from the past?

Legit if there was a 1920 version of this UI I'd be using it for Green if possible.

Speaking of depressed buttons, will the Lay Hands/Harm Touch buttons actually stay properly depressed?

Haha good timing.

So up until last night we have had all the "pressed buttons" appear transparent.

This was a bummer to me because the "presed button" looks so cool!

This is what it looks like without prssed buttons:

I had an idea I had after I fell off my toilet and hit my head on the counter and managed to get pressed buttons to work!

I was very excited, but then I noticed bugs... do you?

At first I didnt notice, but then after like 20 minuets I was like waitaminuet...

So here's the thing, as of right now the game is not able to know the difference between a hotpad button being:

"pressed"
"having an item on it"
"having a spell gem on it"
"having nothing on it at all"

For all 4 of those states, the game thinks the hotpad button is being pressed (To test this, I changed the "PressedFlyOver" image to be transparent, then when I mouse over an empty panel on the hotpad it would become transparent, this leads me to believe that the game just thinks, that these buttons are transparent while they exist in one of the 4 above states)

So here is the decision for Version 1.o:

Is it better with pressed buttons, and empty buttons/inventory/gems have the pressed background? OR Would you rather all those be transparent, and no pressed buttons at all?

I am leaning towards pressed buttons, but I love them so I am biased.

What are ye's thoughts?

Edit: or maybe you were not asking that question at all and were asking if Lay hands would stay pressed for 1hr (in the case that it doesn't do that now in p99, because I have no idea about that I have never played a paladin, I just do pictures haha)

But plz let me know what you think about this.. situation!

This, they don't properly stay pressed the entire cool down currently.

6 of 1, half-dozen of the other: They both have their faults which you have so extensively detailed. Option "A" would look more classic on a brand-new character with no hotkeys assigned. Option "B" looks more nearly classic on a character who has his full hotkey bank assigned. "A" wins for first impression but "B" will probably be the closer of the two to "classic" for the majority of hours spent on any given character.
