Newbie class set gear/quest gear?

Hi guys, I'm an old time EQ player that has just recently gotten into P1999 thanks to Alexensual. Earlier today I just got my Dark Elf Shadow Knight to level 5, and went to go start poking about for the Class Newbie Armor because I remember back in the day it opened up at level 5. I poked every NPC in the Necro/SK class hall with only 3 dialog returns, none of them being the Class newbie armor line. So, is the newbie armor not in the game? I cant remember if it was a Vellius addition, or a Luclin addition. Any help from you guys would be appreciated.

TLDR; Is newbie quest armor in the game? Or is it just for some classes?

Hey man, welcome to P99. The newbie class armor quests are not in the P99 timeline.

Definitely not classic, unsure when this was added but hell, newbie armor beat mid lvl gear on p99.

Newbie armor quests were added when the stromm (newbie) server launched. This is why it had the parenthetical "(newbie server)" in it's title forever. I believe it was midway thru POP

Kill decaying skeletons from level 1-4 for a set of cloth. Kill black wolves and save the skins, shadow wolves too when you can.

Combine the ruined hides with armour patterns to make tattered armour.

Silks can be combined together into threads for practice. Which can in turn be used for other recipes (bandages, leather padding for plate and so on).
