If fascism is the other extreme of the spectrum, fascists believe the government should have absolute control of the thoughts and words of the populace. See Nazi Germany. The difference between communists and fascists is that communists believe the population should be ruled by an elite intelligentsia that knows better how to care for them while fascists believe those with the most money should have all the power. Hitler was put in power by a steel monopolist. Aushwitz was a slave labor camp for the steel industry.
Money is power. The key difference between communists and fascists is honesty. Fascists are honest about the relationship of power and capital. Communists pretend that control is for the benefit of the controlled.
AOC's fist action as congresswoman elect? Hold a town hall and bar the media from it. She doesn't believe in freedom of the press. She doesn't believe in Democracy. She's a communist, just like Bernie.
