yeah I dunno about this. Guy seems to have been paid voluntarily to attack our IRC, and feels like it's the dumbest shit ever because it's a video game.

illegal? not quite, attacking an IRC network isn't really grounds for going to jail, not unless you attack like something that generates money. Keep in mind the P1999 dev team does this on their own time with their own money.

my reaction was because I saw the proxy botnet come in. I didn't know he was paid to do any of this until he mentioned this. If he's paid to do this, then, I respect that, he's just doing his job, even if it's a black market sort of job. I suppose he wants to know the reason behind this because he's probably being harassed to do it myg0t-leecher style in his IRC by some guy. And if he's reading this, know this: It's over a dispute in a video game. That's hilarious to us, and probably to you as well.

Not commenting on the attacking the IRC. He certainly makes it sound like he plans on attacking the p99 server, not IRC. Since p99 is a hosted solution, the hosting company would likely take exception to being DDOS'd.
