I feel it is actually worsening the problem to confirm to these people that, yes, they are indeed weirdos and they need to change sex and go through a whole revolution to just be at ease with who they are. Instead of just telling them that they're super fine, they can do anything and fulfil any role they want in society, under any name they like. 'They' being everyone. I'm part of that they and I will never let anyone tell me I need a whole reboot of society and demos in the streets and martyrs and revolutions to just be myself and happy, no thanks. I'm being called "she" or a woman very regularly and I never correct anyone, but I know I'm a male mammal with a dick that can't be pregnant and I don't understand why I would ever need to change that... what it would allow me to suddenly do that I can't do today.

They can't be themselves. Imagine an evil wizard cast a spell and suddenly you were the opposite gender. Would it matter if society let's you say that you're really male/female, and still do the same things you used to be able to do as a male/female ... or would you go around looking for a cure to the curse? If you cured most of the curse, but it still affected your birth certificate, would you want it fixed? And until you found a cure, would you dress and act like that gender or would you still act like yourself?

There are no solid statistics, but the best estimates by experts is that only 25% of transgenders actually get surgery on their "bottom parts". Some of it's because of lack of access or affordability, but a lot of it is also people that don't want to change their bodies.

There are many transgender people that are fine with not changing their bodies but otherwise living as a different gender ... but then there are also a fair amount that feel they won't be complete as a person without the surgery. Personally I just see it as, why not let people do what they want with their own bodies?

Personally I'm with JD in thinking our society would be better off with more maturity. Let's allow profanity and nudity on TV after ten like they do in Europe, or allow cartoon nudity (even of children) like they do in Japan. It's not (just) about porn. Do you want to be able to watch movies on TV where one guy rips another's head off (without the movie being edited to hide all the gore)? Or would you like to be able to watch a show that has profanity in it? Or what about Game of Thrones: is there really any reason why it shouldn't be on TV after 10pm (someday years from now when HBO puts it into syndication)?

Adults should be able to watch adult TV, it's that simple. We shouldn't treat our entire society like children just because we happen to have some children in it.

I dont watch movies on TV and if you cant afford to figure out how to not watch movies that are censored on TV then you shouldnt be watching TV and you should be working another job.
