Default Low-level monk/warrior gear

Since I've been playing EQ (2000...), I've always somehow been twinked, either by friends or generous donators.
That's cool... but somehow frustrating since I'd like to play the hadcore way, making my own silk/cured/Wu's, looting my gear by myself and so on...
But what's even more frustrating is that all the gear lists, whether general or class lists, only mention high-level gear (no less that 20/25 needed to obtain, not to mention the Planes gear...).
Is there no other option than cloth armor ? Levelling for levelling in order to be able to hunt the higher level gear ? Sounds like more frustration...

If you want a real challenge you can try to find groups in dalnir's in your late 20's / 30's and try for the Crescent armor. It's not that great but has some stats and you will definitely feel you earned it due to Dalnir recently being voted as the most difficult dungeon in the game.

One thing that stroke me about Dalnir is that it's never mentionned in the levelling dungeons lists for any class.

And before heading for Dalnir, is there any gear for the 10-20 range that I could get by myself ? I'm talking about weapons, rings... apart from silk/cured.

A lot of the armor I linked is a little heavy, which is okay when you are getting started, but obviously once weight becomes too much of an issue you will have to pick and choose.

A set of Mesh armor is pretty good, but you'll have to fill the foot slot with something else. There aren't many self-found magic foot options for monk. a burynai cutter drops one.

I've got a no-twink monk that I play time to time, he's level 28 now, but has most of this stuff, all looted, no EC buys and I think like 2.5k or so in the bank since I never spent any of it. If you need any pointers on how to camp some of this gear, I can help.

For monks, all it takes is a 100pp Wu's Quivering Staff to be badass until level 52, so if you want easy mode, buy one of those and just upgrade everything else as you go.

the 4 ac from that noob armor or whatever wont make any noticeable difference. Just loot whatver cloth or anything really and focus your efforts on weapons. Weapons are key for low level monks/wars

I rocked cured silk on my monk until level 30.

Your struggle with going hardcore will be weapons -- i.e. your fists will be better than any weapon you can obtain that is level appropriate. Look for level appropriate hands/feet that are magic.
