Default Dexing up a Warrior

So my halfling warrior hit level 40 and I have Wrapped Spine/Frostbringer. I also have the 10/18 Velium Sword. I have been mostly soloing/duoing with a fungi, but I'd like to try a dex build for larger groups.

I'm up to about 120ish dex with what I've purchased so far, and it looks like I can theoretically hit 135-145 maybe, spending what I'd like. The thing is most items gimp me to some degree, so...

The question I have: Is there a number you guys feel one should shoot for? Or is there a number that "puts you over a hump" per se. I thought I read somewhere there was a number that proc rates jumped, or perhaps a diminishing return after that (not 200).

Thanks for your input.

So there are a bunch of options to raise dex with velious out, however, it would be helpful if you could maybe make a magelo account on the wiki and post a link here. Hard to tell you what to look for when we dont know what you have.

As for the cap you are aiming for on dex, I dont know as i have never played a warrior and never looked that far into it. The higher the better i would say if your grouping as there may not be a shaman around to buff you. If your talking about raiding, take 255 and subtract what a shaman can buff you at level 60 and shoot for that number.

As long as you can hit at least 200 with only a boon, I'd say that's the bare minimum to be effective in a group setting. Ideally you should be able to hit 255 with a boon but I wasn't able to do this (Ogre) till I started getting some Skyshrine pieces with +12/+10 Dex etc.

If you're not getting hit most of the time, you don't have much purpose in a group setting, so don't gimp yourself over Dex but definitely be willing to make some sacrifices for it. The difference in proc rate from 200 to 255 is very noticeable and worth fighting for.

I'm level 40, I'm never raiding here, and my base is 80 dex with a fungi on. 200 or even close to that is impossible with reasonably purchased gear. There aren't a ton of options...Finding gear is really easy with the wiki, so that's not a problem. I love that feature, to whoever put it together.

I thought I remembered reading there was a jump in procs or something at like 126dex (or some number). I doubt that was true, and probably just some person's weird idea in their head. I'm sure it scales linearly or with some sort of curve, but who knows.

I'm not selling any of my DPS/Tank gear, and all the dex gear I'm getting is pretty darn cheap, so I should just test it on my own. It should be pretty easy to parse I suppose. Gamparse even had a proc per min I believe.

I'll break out the old parser and post some results here. That'll keep me busy for a while.

Thanks for the input tho guys, later.

OK, splurged on a Silver Chiten Wrist. I'm up to 139 dex. There are a few more small dex items I could wear like cougar ears, and range slot if I dont need to toss spears, so maybe 150 is possible. I can pop off the fungi too, for science on light blues, or with a sham science buddy.

I'll start parsin soon.

PS. Will procs be effected by mob level?

If DEX mattered, there would not be 13 million (low estimate) midnight mallets on the server.

Think of DEX as playing the lottery: a high DEX can mean a bigger ceiling, but nothing will be more consistent than Seb Croak Dirks or Nightwalker Edges with their ratios.

If you are main-tanking a raid (like every warrior on this server dellusionally expects to) You get a 5 second aggro head start before you call assist for a reason. If you are in a 6 man group, you need to convince the ragebringer rogue that he can wait 0.00002 seconds before slamming backstab.

You mentioned wrists.. Believe me when i say the saves and the stats on Indoculite wrists will last you in both power and utility until Skyshrine. Thats the last place you'd want to sacrifice for DEX.

If you are simply worried about 6 man tanking dynamics, have a caster or hybrid mem root and laugh at how incredibly simple game mechanics can be if we let them.

Simply put. DEX won't save a raid, and root > DEX for 6man shenanigans.

Def buffs up pretty easily.

Boon of the Garou, a level 44 enchanter spell, alone adds 100.

I've put no effort into Jimjam's dex and I often find it capped.

Going from 100 dex to 200 should increase proc rate by 50%
