Default eqgame.exe not using its embedded icon

Not exactly sure why this is - the eqgame.exe process always reverts back to the standard Windows application icon even though all of the icon data is correctly embedded. I think it might have something to do with dsetup.dll, or something that it's interacting with after being launched.

What you described is not happening to my PCs. But I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about here... you probably need to include screenshot.

Also... bug forum needs a sticky post called, "Things we can't legally fix: the Client"

I'm sure it is. Here's a relevant thread containing a screenshot: http://www.project1999.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=256031

Without P99's dsetup.dll, this bug does not occur. So having eqgame.exe interact with something that ultimately strips it of its icon is just as illegal as fixing this bug would be, which is to say not illegal at all. Also, P99 didn't exactly start out as a "legal" endeavor - Daybreak certainly could've condemned the project and issued a cease and desist if they wanted to - it's just EQEmu has always had a good relationship with past and current EQ developers, and they probably aren't costing them any revenue. I think I remember reading somewhere that you can't legally alter or host for download any EverQuest files/content - the update patches would be in violation of this, but since P99 now has Daybreak's endorsement I'm sure it doesn't really matter.
