a person who sells small items, either door-to-door or from a stall or small store. synonyms: trader, dealer, seller, purveyor, vendor, salesman, salesperson, peddler, hawker; informalpusher "the hucksters along the boardwalk" a mercenary person eager to make a profit out of anything. (North American) a publicity agent or advertising copywriter, especially for radio or television. verb (Low German) 1. promote or sell (something, typically a product of questionable value). Huckster is someone who engages in what we call "strategic communication." This means they are using language kind of like a hunter uses a spear or net. They wait for an easier target, and then give you the "pitch." They try to form an emotional connection to sell you shit, generally speaking. But there is no real connection, because when they are done with you, they are on to their next target. The goal is to make a sale for personal gain. They might actually have fun talking to you here and there -- or say things they believe in. But their purpose is to sell first and foremost. They will lie, exaggerate, and otherwise fool you into buying what they are selling. You can usually tell a huckster on TV or radio by how rigorously they try to create, maintain, and exploit their brand for money. This is their way of exploiting an emotional (you could argue intellectual) connection to sell you junk or marked up shit that you would have been better off not purchasing.

Youre confusing natural medicine with homeopathy.
Homeopathy is the collecting of dew from certain plants. The inventor of homeopathy thought he was psychic and could feel various healing vibrations from these plants, and believed the dew held that curative energy. Natural medicine is just plants and shit that have medicinal qualities that we as a species have known about for tens of thousands of years.

The two are often used interchangeably to discredit medicinal plants. That's another conspiracy by big pharma though.
