I knew a guy who started with a TBB and flipped it 3-4 times from red to blue blue to red again for direct item trades every single time, and ended up with a CoF + a few other big ticket items lol....

The flips were real. A sucker is born every minute. You guys have no idea if you think Jib is full of shit.

Call bullshit on yourself Farzo.
This is a case in point example tho.Not everyone did that. Like I said this is a 1% story, the other 99% is just pals buying stuff, or people buying off rmt.

I am not really getting this flip-flip-flip server arbitrage business model

If you manage to get a small value increase with a direct item trade, it will be 3x that if you do it cross Server...but how big can your gains be with direct trade? It is a lot of hassle for sure

But good for you, I never minded rmt, as Long as it doesnt corrupt guild loot council decisions

the, buy old nihi accounts and strip em sounds a lot like what vapo was accused of, that could actually work well

You have to think like a drug addict if you are going to understand them. When they say they were doing this all the time, it happened once. They relive that glory over and over until time, reality and drugs had them confused.

When he says he made $10k per month he made $1k selling 300 hours of play time that he unloaded over 3 days. Technically he was on pace for 10k per month but it was short lived. His 10 fungi tunics were gone, he paid rent, bought some drugs and 2 weeks later he was back on Red99 grinding over again.

You aren't just selling and rebuying big ticket items for plat on a flip.

That's what you are missing. Its mostly item bartering where you really gain the big bucks per flip. Increasing and gaining 10-15k per trade on item value. You keep doing it and gaining more money, rebuying etc. CoF for TBB, Fungi + shit item for such and such, etc. Professional RMTers do this all day long, the fat cats you heard about do this as well, they just don't RMT.

Not surprised the whole thing is over a lot of peoples heads. Theres a reason why blue to red is banned and vice versa.

Its all over now that red to blue is closed.

And you post again, about how you are still confused. Its not about 1 sale, or 1 flip.

Its about skimming 10k here, 15k there (sometimes just 5k) on an item to item cross-server deal. You rinse and repeat this over and over again. Sometimes only getting 5k gain per deal.

You gain platinum by devaluing the other persons item. Its called bartering maybe you have heard of it.

Once you start snowballing you can't be stopped in a good economy, and you can collect a million platinum before you even think about RMTing anything.

Not sure you understand how the EC fatcats operate, nevermind adding server to server bartering and 3:1 ratios.

A lot of what Jib said is true, the red to blue transfers enabled incredible triple returns on investments.

Most of you aren't thinking hard enough. Take 3 big droppables to start with. CoF, Fungi,...and BCG idk. What you would do is flip them once, even twice. Back and forth blue to red red to blue flip flip flip.

When the market was hot and red was booming with TMO etc, you could get a few flips and then return to blue with 3x the money so a few hundred bucks in items became 2.5k-3k from just bartering and flipping. The market doesn't support this anymore, it was mostly during the <TMO> era.

1 Decibel can't make up for all that economy lost since <TMO>

Agatha can explain it better than I can I just don't care enough. The flips were real, and the money was fucking huge.
Decibel sure is trying. He now owns Alarti/Menethil SoD and tons of droppable all RMT'd

yep xfer to red 3:1, xfer from red 4:1 25% gain each xfer on blue.

i.e 10k red to blue 40k ( 4:1)

then xfer it back 30k on blue 10k (3:1) on red... you gained 10k on blue.

but not many people did this tho coz its over the head of most people; I think loudog etc did it coz all they did was farm in trashcan gear 24/7

xfer blue 2 red god banned coz when TMO/and other RMTs decided it was time to go; they would hand plat to people under the guise it was for cross xfer trades.

also people were buying plat on blue and xfering it across (thus washing it)
