Game Mechanics: Slam - skills up bash?

Slam shouldnt skill up BASH, only BASH (with a shield) skills up bash, and Slam is directly tied into that, still that way on live today. Cant skill up bash with slam, but slam skill is tired to bash skill in terms of success rate and damage.

Anyone shed some light on this issue?

Based on the eqemu code, it seems like the packet involved does not distinguish Slam from Bash at all. If you have a shield equipped, there'd be no way to know what you actually did.

Eqemu code doesn't even check for a shield before skilling up Bash regardless, though.

Which is why Im hoping to start a tread on this to see if this server can address this issue. Shouldnt be able to level Bash up while slamming. it stuns like all casters each time it lands making it really OP exp wise.
