Default Lag during bard swarm kite

I just recently play bard, and finally i know how to perform a swarm kite, now I only die becoz of lag during making circle, and it happen in every kite, may I ask is it normal for a p99 blue server? Is there anyway I can avoid the lagging? By lower graphic quality?

Some options:
  • Lower graphics settings
  • disable spell notifications and visual effects
  • set up and play P99 from a RAM drive
  • do not PBAOE kite

It's like a really big flash drive. If you're gonna play P99 alot, a solid state drive will change the game for you.
Instead of waking up at 5am and waiting 45 seconds to chase the dragon, SSD will load it in ~15.

Raiders pretty much need it. Will save you a ton of aggravation on a porter or any other character that plans to go through zone lines.

that being said, you can also put EQ on a USB 3.0 flash drive and run it from there, much faster than a mechanical drive still

Depending on the size of your kite, you might want to make sure your log file is turned off. Sometimes when I would pull 100-150 mobs at a time, it would give me a 1/2 second lag spike every time a song would hit the mobs. That 1/2 second is all it takes while swarming to wreck ya.

What zone are you in?

In DL (always) there is a limit to how many mobs you can kite before crashing. Other zones sometimes have it. You might be on a perfectly fast machine, but if you hit 70 or so in DL and the zone has a decent number of people, you're going to die trying to get the tight circle going. This is why FV until BW is probably more efficient since the class penalty went away.

Same thing sometimes when lots of people are in the zone. You probably should just not kite in a zone full of people though, unless you are a punk.
