The shaman did nothing wrong. He fell through the carpet and gated. The cleric really didn't do anything wrong either. He saw the shaman take some damage and tossed him a heal. The only person in the wrong here was you. People make mistakes and it doesn't help anyone by yelling at them.

Except you forgot the parts about having an established camp, warning about carpets in /g less than 10 minutes prior, and the shaman having no logical reason at all to travel down the ramp and fall through. It's not like this guy was a level 50 that just got his key. He's a 60 epic shaman that is geared to the tits...the "simple error" argument doesn't float here.

People make mistakes, clearly I did with the use of a F-bomb and a call-out. The point is...as a new player, I've screwed up royally. There are some folks that leveled up with me through the major grouping zones that have been the victims of multiple bad charm breaks on sketchy pulls resulting in wipes. I'm the first to apologize and admit fault. I expect to take a bit of flak in stride while beating myself up just enough in learning from said mistakes.

The mentality ought to be to just do whatever you can to fix the shitty situation instead of running off and leaving other P99 players high and dry. We're a finite resource here, folks.

Regardless, my buddies are recovered and his corpse can sit in HS.

This thread is pretty bad. Sure, poor Sqwid blundered and panicked. But your group didn't back him up. You could have simply told him not to gate: a 60 shaman with full raid buffs shouldn't actually have much trouble with a few basement skeletons. You could have asked the Magician to COH everyone. You could have jumped in to help mez things until the cleric camped, or rune the cleric and ivu somewhere to buy him more time. Instead you blamed him for everything and as soon as he realized your CR was OK he logged in disgust.

P.S. Next time you die in HS, you can frequently CR yourself by double invising someone to run through the basement and /corpsing from there. It doesn't always work, but it probably would have in this case.

You could have had a fun time with this.

Some of my favorite times on this server have been the hilarity of an HS corpse run. You have it even easier now that rogues can go anywhere. Back in my day we had to break in naked with magician summoned swords while I beat up skeletons on my naked monk.
