Bump I still want to know what you think about modern information technology and it's affect on humanity Csihar.
Also, I would like to add that I think the reason red99 is so successful and popular is because of the internet.

[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Computers (and cellphone texting) may have had an effect but I don't think it's the cause. The older generations make those mistakes again. The 'your/you're', 'there/their/they're', 'lose/loose' type of mistakes are more common for native speakers I've noticed. I think it's simply a case of native speakers learning the spoken language first and learning the written language much later. "There car" and "their car" sound identical. A lot of people who do not have English as a native language, myself included, learn both at around the same time. And we're taught to beware of those awful, awful mistakes. It's also laziness and not valueing proper spelling. I don't know why I value it but I do. When I learn that I've been misspelling a word I make a mental note and change it. Other people are more inclined to say "I HAVE A RIGHT TO SPELL WORDS HOWEVER I WANT. 'murica". This conversation feels very off-forum [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
