Given the general labor categories (unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled, and highly skilled), you may want to consider voting for someone who will prioritize education and make it accessible. What you'll find is many countries outside of the U.S. do this and it provides a solid foundation to economic growth.

If you still don't believe me, take a look at the education levels and gross national income of some of the poorest nations in the world. Conversely, look at South Korea and Singapore as solid examples of nations who completely reversed their country's economic conditions by prioritizing education. Although the later two countries did assume protectionist policies to safeguard their infant manufacturing sectors, these barriers were later removed and both countries engage in free trade practices.

more education does not = smarter people, the average college kid or freshly graduated college kid is fucking stupid and has no real world experience in anything other then free rides.

I export a lot of goods and most countries charge 30-50% off the top and if we charged that on incoming parts it would be cheaper to make them here, you know like it used to be

You sound like a hillbilly relying on anecdotal evidence to form a view of how the world works. Go review economics and look up what influences exchange rates.

Barriers to trade result in higher prices to consumers and are a proxy to industry subsidies. What do you think happens to the price of imports when businesses fail to be competitive globally?

Just to give you a hint, the US spent $2.410 trillion on imported products in 2014.

in america, and other 1st world western countries (uk, germany, france), yes. but not just college kids - the population in general has a huge sense of entitlement, and expect the government to provide a comfy ride to the grave. global equalization of fuel and energy costs would show true economic strength (a gallon of gasoline takes a finite amount of "work" to produce, yet it costs twice or 3 times less in america than the rest of the world)
