If sirken or someone that's put hours into helping the server were to die, I could see it. Otherwise no.

I think within the context of the server, being cool and normal to everyone in the community is sort of miraculous in and of itself.

It's probably that the majority of people moved by his presence had him in their personal lives for a remarkable amount of time each and every day (Empire especially).

I think the gofundme is truly more impactful than a statue in EQ, but that's not really the point of this thread. I'm not sure why people are even debating between the two. A statue is for remembrance among the people that knew him here. The gofundme is to help out his family through a rough time.

If you actually want to debate the merit of it, though, I'd suggest defining what "impactful" means here on R99.

How did he impact the project? He impacted the people he played with. We're all here for the experience, the interaction, the comraderie yeah? Except you, just here to be a cocksucker I suppose. Not everyone spends all their time ganking or PvPing. Most of his time was spent helping his pals.

Indeed it was!

Also does anyone else notice that it's always the nonfactors that don't even play here anymore (samwise, jazzy in this scenario) are the main ones that we have to say STFU to regularly?

Rygrim seems like a person who lived real life well, even while playing EQ. That's admirable. I'd support a statue in monument to a person like that under these circumstances. To those people saying we'll regret playing EQ on our deathbeds, I disagree - I think the only thing we'll regret is not being happy with our choices every moment of our lives. I think we can be happy with our choices and play EQ. Rygrim seems to have been able to have done that.

I also insert my support for Iruinedyourday here.
