A couple of the officers got popped for RMT plus they were having trouble cracking the "casual" raid environment so they pretty much fell apart.

lol RMT, why is it so hard for people to keep their wallets in their pockets? GG said Braknar is on "that site" more than he spends time with his kids... which I'm not going to take as gospel but should serve as a deterrent.

Unfortunately the server climate isn't allowing us to pursue that goal without turning the guild into something we don't want it to be.

The server is very top-heavy with Rampage destroying everything and BDA/Taken zerging the scraps. In order for us to be successful as a guild we would need to mass-invite casual players to support our core of hardcore players. Since we don't do that it's put us in a difficult position where our core is burnt out from carrying the load and we're unable to field enough people for basic raids.

Instead of forcing the guild into a merger or to be absorbed by another guild we are giving you guys the choice to go where you want. It's always been your choice to do what you want and we don't want to pressure anyone to follow us down a path they don't agree with.

This 'phased' approach I implemented 8 days ago revealed a lot about our current state. Despite having over 137 members and 47 trials we've barely been able to self-organize groups to complete things. In most cases, people were just doing their own thing....and thats OK. We don't expect everyone to have an urge to progress in the same way as our core - but it sets us up for a difficult future when we're trying more complex raids and encounters if resists and gearing is inconsistent across the board.

However, the guild isn't dissolving. A lot of people want to stay in it and play with the friends they've made here and wear the HK tag with pride. You're free to do so as well. The primary difference here is there won't be a leadership team that helps organize and spearhead events anymore.

Thank you everyone for being a part of this great guild and great experience. We wish you all the best and hope to see you around.

That does sum up my thoughts on the blue raid scene quite accurately - need to be in a big guild to get those targets regularly and people queue up to apply to them which strangles emerging guilds who want to raid.

You realize that's a construct of the top tier guilds and not the mid tier guilds right? What BDA and Taken do is a shitty approximation of what Rampage does.

Rampage ripped a Tormax kill that BDA was working hard for. They had two guys get FTE while 70 other Rampage poured into Kael, had their main tank and ramp tank ready to go, plus a functional CH chain all on the fly in under 60 seconds or something.

When you yell at BDA or Taken for choking out new guilds you have to realize that every guild is hardened by dealing with Rampage, or from dealing with each other. There's no slack in the line because that's always how p99 has been, the top guild always does whatever it takes and everyone else is forced to adjust their orbits around the leading guilds gravity.

Well you could try and get a rotation put in but nobody is fooling for that one again.

Right, because the small guilds would eventually take advantage of the situation again, which is why the rotation fell. The 3 big guilds were the ones keeping the rotation in check when the Bobs and GTs tried to ruin it, we were the muscle. So when the muscle got tired of being taken advantage of we offered an amended rotation that was more fair to the muscle. The smaller guilds said it was unfair and decided to fight about it. They lost.

Your revisionist history is bullshit. There could have been a rotation all the way to Velious if the smaller guilds hadn't decided to push the issue.
