Default Screenshots

This could be the dumbest two questions in the history of these forums, but, here goes.
1. Where are the screenshots stored? I looked in my pictures ect and in the eq file. I can't find them anywhere.
2. I know how to turn logs on in-game; /log on. However, were do I find the file that the logs are stored to?

Sigh, and yes, I am computer illiterate.

I'm just amazed that you took the time to write this post instead of... oh maybe looking in the EverQuest folder?

Hint: The folders are named appropriately

I'm amazed that you think I did not look in the EverQuest folder.
I have looked in every folder.
Is there supposed to be a folder for screenshots?
Is there anyway to determine where the screenshots are going?
Can the destination folder for screenshots be changed?

Logs are stored in the Logs folder under your EQ directory
Screenshots are stored in the Screenshots folder

If you have EQ installed to the Program Files directory (C:\Program Files (x86\ or similar), it may not be able to write to its own directory due to the way permissions work on newer versions of Windows. Try running it as Administrator or moving it to a different directory.

It wouldn't be possible to persist any settings if there were permission issues, AFAIK.

Open your start menu and do a search for "Screenshots", if that doesn't work...all hope is lost.

So,
The fix was to move the eq folder out of the "programs" folder and onto the C drive. Once I moved it all the problems with permissions went away. Logs and screenshots both up and running.

Not neccessarily, the client could be written in a way to create or access a character ini file under a different directory if it fails to open a handle to the file under the installation path. I believe the version of the client we use was last updated post UAC being introduced to Windows and the SOE devs would have had to deal with this. Not writing character INI files is game breaking, failing to write out screenshots and text logs is not. They probably just came up with a good-enough solution like I described. Try experimenting with changing your user interface i.e. adding hot keys etc without administrator privileges and then run it as administrator.
