![]() So this has been driving me nuts enough lately that I decided to post. It has been going on now for maybe a month or 2..
I can see all of my own spell effects. I can see spell effects from other players when they cast spells on me. I CANNOT see spell effects when PC's cast spells on other PC's or NPC's. It has bothered me mostly when tanking and I can't see which mobs an enchanter is mezzing, or when someone is pacifying a mob, but really any instance when you need to see what someone is casting or casting on. Any help would be excellent. I have turned on all spell effects, max opacity, max density, /showspelleffects on, etc.... Someone help!

![]() This is a fairly common issue. I've seen it with two streamers alone, so I'm certain a lot of players may get this bug and not realize it. (Mycah comes to mind)
A freshly installed and patched EQ directory usually fixes the problem. I have yet to narrow down the bug to a specific file. If you don't have a backup directory, you'll have to reinstall. :/ I always stress that you should have a backup P99 EQ folder for these cases. For the future, simply copy your P99 EQ directory after you have everything setup the way you want it (interface features, etc) and add BACKUP to the folder name. That way you can avoid ever reinstalling by copy/pasting the backup directory's contents over.

![]() Thanks. I was really wanting to avoid a re-install but it only takes about 30 minutes anyway. If anyone ever figures this out, post it here anyway!

![]() Any fix for this? I've tried multiple reinstalls but the problem is still not fixed.
1) I cannot see other player's casting animations. The spell particles come out of their hands, but their arms dont move when they cast. 2) I can only see spell particles for spells that are cast on ME. Spells that are cast of other people do not show up.........

![]() I noticed that when uninstalling, deleting remaining files, and REinstalling.....that when I launch EQ my keybindings and UI settings are not reset.
Is there an additional folder somewhere with these EQ files?

![]() I am having this issue as well. the ini settings are this;
SpellParticleOpacity=1.000000 EnvironmentParticleOpacity=1.000000 ActorParticleOpacity=1.000000 ShowAlarmWindow=false SpellParticleNearClipPlane=8.000000 SpellParticleDensity=1.000000 Shadows=0 SpellParticleCastFilter=24 EnvironmentParticleDensity=1.000000 EnvironmentParticleNearClipPlane=8.000000 EnvironmentParticleCastFilter=24 ActorParticleDensity=1.000000 ActorParticleNearClipPlane=8.000000 ActorParticleCastFilter=24 in-game options reads farthest, highest, all spells, and opac is 100%. I can see PC's castings beneficial spells on each other but i cannot see detrimental spell effects landing, except my own, on NPC's Thanks

![]() This bug is caused by the UI when you change certain spell filters on the main chat window. Reset your UI or turn on all spell messages on the main chat window.

![]() exactly Telin. I actually had to delete the eqclient.ini and then open the game for it to create a whole new one which fixed it.
