Didn't buy Scars of Velious until after Luclin came out because I was 12 and did not have money. New graphics sounded cooler than an ice continent. Quit playing sometime during SoL and never went back. Tried out a free week a few years later but never actually resubscribed, felt like a different, empty game.

yes, so basic, you can't mess it up. compare that to upper/lower guk and bingo - ideas and theories like this are why EQ is lame after velious. some ideas from luclin were good, same with pop... but not much

I quit around the time my brother quit and moved to college, because I only ever experienced Everquest by sitting and watching him play over his shoulder. And even that got me hooked.

I quit when WoW launched and for me, Vanilla WoW was every bit as fun as any period of EQ. I wish I could relive those moments the same as EQ. I actually found nothing in particular ruined EQ for me. I loved luclin-PoP unlike most people, and probably the most fun I've ever had in EQ was during PoP. I was playing with a handful of real life friends who were all super into it and it really made it fun.

I think I decided to fully leave EQ when my friends stopped logging in. Only then did the game lose its allure for me.

Most people here loved PoP actually from what you will find out from posts here.

PoP was easily the best expansion to ever get released.

GoD was frustrating me and I saw the trailer for Lineage 2, which happened to be in open beta at the time. I went from playing EQ daily for 2 years to dropping it completely and never thinking about it again until P99. Lineage 2 was an amazing gaming experience for the first few expansions if you could handle the grind.

L2 was one of the games that always interested me when I quit EQ, but I never did make the leap of faith to play because the grind, or rather the unvarying nature of the grind in order to compete in PvP, put me off.

They get like a baby treant or something. Started a little over a year ago. There was an online contest to pick one new race/class combo. Wood Elf BST won... I suspect shadiness. They beat out Dark Elf Ranger!!! WTF?

It was Dragons of Norrath...just seemed like I had missed quite a bit of content, even being in a raiding guild and all and they kept releasing new expansions so rapidly that the game just lost my interest.
